I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who supported my campaign for election to the office of Broome County Executive. While we had to face many challenges, I am very proud of what we were able to accomplish in such a short time and with very little revenue. We were out spent by a margin of over 7 to 1 and that was a huge mountain to climb for us. However, we were able to pay for all of our campaign expenses that included our printed materials, lawn signs, television, radio and newspaper advertisements, mailing expenses, etc. This was accomplished through the fine efforts of our campaign committee who worked very hard throughout the campaign. A big thank you to the various elected officials who strongly displayed their support of me. Another thank you to the Broome County Republican Committee for all their support. There are many others who have helped me and I am very touched by their support and hard work.

I believe that we were successful in making people throughout the county, aware of the many issues that exist here in Broome County and I also believe that the present and future administration of the Broome County government have taken notice and will hopefully, make some changes in how they do business.

To give you some idea of the impact we were able to generate, the population of the Town of Dickinson is about 5,400. I am currently serving my 4th term as Supervisor. They know me well. I was not so well known across the county as a whole. But, with just 6 months of work, we were able to impress an estimated 31,000 voters to cast ballots for me. That's 31,000 voters who understand my platform of integrity, hard work and bi-partisianship.

I have had absolutely no regrets in taking on the monumental task of running for County Executive. I have met many new friends throughout the county, became much more aware of issues in our various municipalities, and I have a keener sense of what our residents expect from their elected officials. A special thank you to the students from Main-Endwell High School who took the time to write some great letters of support for my campaign and platform statements, and also for sharing their concerns with me. The letters were extremely well written and done in a very professional manner. Great job M.E.!!

The campaign is now over and I congratulate Barb Fiala on her re-election to the office of County Executive. I will also reach out to Mrs. Fiala and all our elected officials in an effort to work together as a team to make Broome County an even better place to live and work.
